SpeedBox 1.6 for Bosch – Smart System Gen.5 + Rim Magnet

SpeedBox 1.6 is a premium tuning module designed for Bosch Performance Line CX (5th Generation) motors equipped with the Smart System and a valve‑mounted Rim Magnet. It removes the factory 25 km/h speed limiter, allowing smooth assisted speeds up to a recommended 35 km/h, while maintaining natural motor behaviour and intuitive control.

Simplified Installation

• No need to position a magnet simulator


• Connects directly using original Bosch connectors


• Designed for motors mounted with 2 bolts

Activation & Control

• Activate/deactivate while stationary via WALK assist or button sequence (- + - +)


• Speed limit adjustable up to 99 km/h (recommended max: 35 km/h)


• Tuning status shown on display: 3.5 km/h = ON, 2.5 km/h = OFF

Display Behaviour

• Real-time speed: Not shown


• Correct distance: Displayed after post‑ride countdown


• Countdown must complete before powering off or removing the display

Setting a Custom Speed Limit

Switch through modes in this order:

TURBO → eMTB → TOUR+ → ECO → TOUR+ → eMTB → TURBO

The display will show the selected limit (e.g., 3.5 km/h = 35 km/h). After 15 seconds of inactivity, the setting is saved.

Installation & Shutdown Notes

• After riding, leave the bike powered on until the display reaches 0.0 km/h


• Do not remove the display before the countdown completes


• Do not activate/deactivate tuning while riding


• Disable automatic firmware updates in the eBike Flow App

Recommendations for Trouble-Free Operation

• Keep the bike on until the countdown completes after each ride


• During short stops, keep one foot on the pedal to prevent countdown


• During long stops, allow at least part of the countdown to run


• Do not exceed 35 km/h to avoid error codes


• Do not perform software updates
